About The School

Central Foundation is a voluntary aided comprehensive school. Its charitable foundation is the Central Foundation Schools of London Trust. It is linked with the Central Foundation Boys’ School in Islington. Central Foundation works in partnership with other local primary and secondary schools and with Tower Hamlets Further Education College.

Some 75 per cent of the school’s students are bilingual and this reflects the rich linguistic and cultural diversities of the local community. The school is oversubscribed. Our continually improving examination results have led the DfES to designate the school as a High Performing School. The energy and determination of the teaching and support staff, who strive to provide the students with the opportunities to succeed and to become well educated and confident young women, is a major factor in the school's achievement to date. It continues to develop, both as a community in its own right and as part of local, national and international learning communities. We are building and extending links with institutions of further education, teacher training institutions, and schools in South Africa. We aim to empower our students to become effective agents of change for cosmopolitan democracy.
